I've noticed that in various hobbies, the average age of
the participants seems to be advancing rapidly. Not a good
sign for those hobbies (ham radio, amateur astronomy) since it
likely means the hobby is not attracting new people, at least
not younger ones. So, is this the case, that the hobby is
dying, or is it that the newcomers could be older baby boomers
with money to spend looking for an outlet?

Really? Based on the audiophile contingent from this group, I'd say the
average age is about 11.

You're not very good at the humor thing, are you. What you presumably meant
to say is the emotional age is 11. That's how you do a snap. Remember when
your mommy taught you to use Kleenex instead of your shirt? Same kind of
thing.

Navel contemplators come in all ages.
The only difference is that the older the contemplator, the harder to reach
the bottom of it.

It definitely is aging.
Young people have different hobbies, like playing Grand Theft Auto,
customizing Ipods, and recompiling the Linux kernel.

No that really wouldn't be very funny at all. That would just be factual.
Humor is about something a little different. When you get past the
emotional age of 11 you'll get it.

I guess we agree to agree on your humorlessness.

Believe whatever you need to believe, silly man.

The interesting thing is, by chronological age (and gender) most of the
posters
probably can't hear anything with more bandwidth than a cheap AM car
radio with a broken speaker.
