Hello,

In case anyone is interested...

I was able to play my MP3 player through my Kenwood KRC 302 (about 7
years old) by creating a cable based on the 13 pin din schematic faxed
to me by Kenwood on request.

The following connections were made:
req c (pin 9) 1k ohm(I think) to +12v. (Seems to be Request CD)
r ch (pin 8) connects to one audio in of 1/8" cable.
l ch (pin 12) connects to other audio in of 1/8" cable.
ch g (pin 6) connects to common audio ground of 1/8" cable.

Connector on Kenwood KRC 302 below.

1 5 9

2 6 10
13
3 7 11

4 8 12

When CD mode is selected on the stereo the MP3 player sound is played
on the stero. It works well.

The male 13 pin connector cost me about two dollars and the eight inch
cable I already had.

By the way, Kenwood told me that the adaptor that they sell for $20
for this purpose does not work on this particular model.

Regards,

Mark
