What's one of the best head units you can get for around 450$? I'd like
sumthin like a motorized alpine or somethin with a 7 inch LCD.

$450 new or used?

I think pretty much all of the head units with LCD screens that size
(or even 6.5") are going to be outside of your price range if you're
looking for new stuff. As far as Alpine goes, just the in-dash
motorized monitor will run you $600+. And that's just for a monitor -
you'll have to get a separate unit to actually play CDs, dvds, or
whatever else.

If you can fit a double-DIN unit in your dash, the $625 Alpine
FVA-W306 has a 6-inch screen, and plays CD's and MD's. But, if you
want to watch movies on the screen, you still have to buy a separate
DVD player, VCR, or TV tuner, because there's not one built into the
W306.

If you want one Alpine unit that has AM/FM, CD, DVD, and a motorized
screen, you're looking at something like the IVA-D901, which is about
$1500. You can get the older version, the IVA-D300, for about $1200.

For less money, you can get the Pioneer AVX-P8DVD. It goes for about
$650, has a 6.5" motorized screen, and plays CD's and DVD's. It does
NOT have an AM/FM radio, and it does NOT have a built-in amplifier, so
you'd have to add an external amp.

Let us know exactly what you need this head unit to do, and we can
probably give more specific examples.
