There are plenty cheap brands, like Redstar, dbtronic, First Austria,
Pionier with "i"....
Are there worth their money? Do they sound well?

No man. I am coming to grips with them, really :) . Just sounds like
swap meet brands, like Rockwood, etc.

you get what you paid for.
a $50 player will be a $50 player, it's not going to sound like a $1000
player.
go for established brand names.
