After reading several posts over the last year or so I still am a bit
confused as to what frequencies should be considered sub-bass,
mid-bass, midrange, and high frequencies. I thought it would be
interesting to get some opinions from everyone into one post. I have
personally always considered 80Hz and below to be sub-bass but I know
people who believe that 80 to 51Hz should be considered mid-bass.
Please share your thoughts so that the more ignorant of us may be
enlightened. :)

Obviously, there's no set rule. But I'd consider anywhere between about
80Hz and 200 Hz to substantially contribute to midbass.

I completely agree, and I tend to use the terms mid-bass and sub-bass when
talking about SPEAKERS, not frequencies. I think what counts is that we all
have a general idea of which is which so that when I talk about installing
mid-bass speakers in my door, you all know what I am talking about.
