View Full Version : Speakers for an Audi A4

I have an Audi A4. I had a stereo place install a new deck (pioneer
DEH) but left in the factory speakers and it sounds like crap. I am
assuming the reason is because the speakers have to be changed if it is
an Audi. The original system was NOT BOSE, it was just a normal stereo
that came with the car. Therefore, can I just replace the rear
speakers by using the existing wiring to the factory speakers and
connecting the wires to the new speakers, or do I have to go through
the involved wiring process that best buy quoted me would take 3 hours
and cost $300??
Thanks.

Perhap you need an amplifier. I got same problem. I put out factory old
system. I installed new CD, 400W Amp and 6x9 speaker. I only spend
about $100 dollar and I couldn't believe how good this sound is.
I don't have to spend some $300 to speaker. I got all system under
$100 and the sound is more clearly better than I've ever thought. now
some
guy suggests to me to buy $55 for Jensen CDD3610 ($90 average price)
that I don't know if I need it.

Do you have an Audi? The situation is different for the Audi since the
factory stereo installation is hoplessly screwed up and you apparently
can't just replace the head unit and expect it to work.

NO NO NOOOOOO man another sad customer. Sorry to hear the Audi experience is Sour. The pioneer unit should sound VERY much better than the OEM audi deck. the pioneer should relatively have more than ample wattage than that old audi amp, mess with those shaping controls of the pioneer Bass, treble, natural, superbass, EQ settings whatever that DEH??? offers.......no way should you spend that kind of money. Most retailers sell kits that Bridge wires to bypass your amp, but if ALL speakers are playing, this is NOT an issue, and that pioneer DEH would very closely match, if not BLOW AWAY that stock audi amp....if one was even installed on your model vehicle.
