Go spend $$$$ as much as possible, then you get the best system
you have...Then you will not feel the best system you got and you will
ask same question again...cuz the best possible system has no limited.
I saw a 6x9" speaker cost $1999.

Too bad you think I'm trolling.. here. It's matter of fact that go buy
$$$$
as high as possible then you get the best system. Shaqill O'nell car
stereo system cost more than $20,000 I saw in the car stereo magazine.
Well you
don't believe you didn't see it.

So what exactly do you get with $20,000 that you can't buy with, say, $1500?

Professional install, and the cost to air it on every tv station in the
country?

Keep in mind, install is like 15k, so air time is cheap :p

Hmm. Ebay is your friend.. search used 'mid-fi' brands for amps (mtx,
hifonics, jbl etc.).Try to get a sub new if at all possible as that is
probably the most abused component in car audio.

There are all in one boxes that may fit your bill depending on
performance needs (infinity basslink, bazookas, etc.).

hth,

At around that range, used amps are gonna be cheapest. Like Cyrus said,
Ebay is your friend, just research before you bid. Both the product and
seller. Also you asked about the HU. If you wish to use the original HU,
you will likely be best off with an amplifier that has High-level inputs
so you don't have to use a converter over to RCAs. Of course, if your
car has a factory amp, that could make it a little more difficult to get
wired up. Pretty much any sub will do, just check out some shops and see
what you like and will work well in your car. As I see its a VW Golf,
I'm assuming as small a box as possible, but that's your call.

Well I saw from the car stereo magagine. The $10 million/yr
basketball
superstar Shaqiuille O'nell spend more than $20,000 for a single car
audio system. His system is like a whole studio system.

Yeah and I seriously doubt anybody who reads this forum has that much
cheddar for a car audio system. So the point is moot.

One would hope he's not trying set up a studio in a vehicle, the
acoustics are horrible for any type of recording. And, is borderline for
reproduction in the first place.

Foaad,

Here's the for best Bang for the Buck in your situation:

Amp: Lanzar Vibe 261 or HTG264, 1000Wrms for $200

Sub: Single Pyramid Super Pro 12", 15", or 18" Between $31 and $63.
Models #s:
PW1285USX, PW1585USX, or PW18110USX

I've used similar equipment as these and I can say they are very good
for the money.
