I was listening yesterday to one of his recordings with Wes
Montgomery (Jimmy Smith).

I can beat that. I was WATCHING him doing a riff on The Battle Hymn of
the Republic on the campy 60s flick Get Yourself a College Girl. After
that, it was Eric Burdon and the Animals doing a sterling verion of
Around and Around. And don't forget about the Dave Clark Five!

I win.

Again.

Don't forget about the co-writer of Ring of Fire, Merle Kilgore.

Here's a really nice encapulation of Jimmy Smith's career:

Funny I have already read that when Jack McDuff died.

Nope. After all, I didn't say that Jack McDuff WAS Hammond. There's
certainly a case to be made for that, but please excuse me for
expressing an opinion about the quality of Mr. Smith's tone.

I have read that from a journalist.

I would like to excuse you but the doubt persist...
Anyway it's not really important.

That's fine. Obviously, I didn't parrot him or her, even if I had read
it, because I said that about someone else.

Agreed. Which is why I'm amazed that you've gone after me about even
THIS.

Just to show you how stupid and futile it can be... ;-)

Let's say that 99.9% of your production of :
- "I win"
- "you lose"
- <chuckle>
- ...
concern far less important subjects.

You figure out the difference between Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
yet?

This is *your* battlefield Dave, only a naive can hope to survive more than
2 posts here. Even humour has fled long time ago... :-(

But you are right, this is exactly what I meant.
All these very important details... That make you say that a guy is a *liar*
because he has done a "half-day" error concerning a message posted 5 years
ago.

But that's exactly what Arnold did to me earlier this very day, right
(on a post that precedes my very entry onto RAO.

And it wasn't ME who suddenly declared that *I* had erred when I
talked about Christmas Day vs. Christmas Eve. You were the one who
drew the distinction...
