The blurb suggests using upgraded cable.
So, the cable will cost more than the amp.
What do you say about a $39 amp with $1,000 interconnects?

Something that you'd recommend Art, if that $39 included a tube?

I say that :
- You don't answer to the question
- You are the only one idiot here who imagine to purchase $1,000
interconnects.
- You don't give any interesting information.

To summerize, one more time you are the caricature of what you use to mock.

Not likely, unless it was a Marantz 7C for $39 ina thrift shop.
Of course, no way on those $1,000 interconnects, I would
spend the money on better equipment

Stocks are out in US. You will have to wait till february.
Note that it will cost you EUR 30.00 including delivery and VAT in London...
Considering the ration of transportation costs I will purchase 2 pieces for
bi-amping purpose. ;-)

Just because of one guy's report, which could have been interpreted as
"tinny and boomy."
It is well known that novelty and appearance influence the perception of
functionality.
This is like the dog that plays chess - amazing, considering it's a dog.

Class D amplifiers have been around for a decade. So have amplifier chips,
of which Sanken is the most visible manufacturer.
I have heard a pretty decent Sanken based amplifier, enclosed in a metal
chassis with a large power supply.
If the same chip had been enclosed in an insubstantial plastic box, I might
have thought, "boy, this piece of crap sounds remarkably good."
So here is a chip in a box, powered by a non-proprietary battery holder, and
you guys fall for it hook, line, and sinker.

When the manufacturers get wind of this, the next audio trend will be
putting fair-to-middling components in crappy plastic boxes.
We'll eat it all up.

They learn fast.

Yes Bob, but according to a Middiusian's perception of life it is the
revenge of the prole... The International of the "bad taste" like the wine

I can *purchase* it and *test* it now and decide if it sounds like crap or

For the moment "we" fall for nothing, Bob. This is the *only* point I
disagree with your comment.
Maximum it will cost me $30.00 far less than a one hour "aperitif" with 2
pals in my prefered bar...
The result doesn't fit the review ? Well, no problem, everybody need a
"small" system in a small room. Why not in the toilet with my Encyclopaedia
Universalis ?
Months ago you have explained me that one of your hobby is to play with
electronical "low priced" gadgets, don't you remember ? This is excatly
what I propose you to do here.

Far from me the idea to bring the revolution in your listening rooms !
Are you agree now ?

That's an interesting technology.
I saw Tripath has also more powerful versions available.
Since the guys at TNT-audio are usually a bit conservative, so when
they tave about a thing like this, it has to have some merit .

SET-killer, anyone? ;-)

I think I'll order some of the higher power chips and play with them a
bit.

The Gaincard/Gainclone is just a power opamp, this thing is some kind
of switching amplifier (class D, or class "T" , as Tripath calls it).

Different way of processing a signal.
I'll have to read the datasheets more carefully for details.

I can imagine a bunch of Oscons and air-core chokes around it ;-)
