The new M-L Summit features the company's new XStat technology.
See picture here:

And side by side with the Ascent:

According to Thomas J. Norton, they sound outstanding:

And they better, because according to me, they look like something you get
from IKEA for $129 (assembly required).
I know that looks are secondary to performance but did they have to be
sooooooo CHEESY. YECCHH!
Compare to Innersound, for example:
http://www.innersound.net/kachina.html
To me these are beautiful speakers in addition to sounding great.
As many of you know, I'm a huge Martin Logan fan and own a pair of Prodigys
and a pair of SL-3's but I just cannot digest this new look.
What do the rest of you think?
Cheers,
Margaret

Could be Pottery Barn!
Is it a good idea to realize an antipathy to Scandinavian style at this
point?

This was just brought to my attention:

Basically Innersound hasn't existed for some time now. I feel really bad for
Roger Sanders and hope he will come up with a new company.
Sorry about the ignorant comparison.

Oh great. At least they now look like $1,299 items...

Good call. But some of that stuff over there....like pizza in Italy.

How about the cheaper MLs with ribbons style-wise? I think they look
like someone didn't want them to look different from their bigger models.

Gotta love it. I still check out any restaurant that claims to have
Roman style pizza despite the 100% disappointment rate.

Napoli is the armpit of the ****ing world. I'd rather be sent to the Black
Hole of Calcutta than ever subject myself to that grostesque, godless place
every again.
The only nice thing about the place is its proximity to Capri.

Would you rather be sent here?

Ick. Just get Soundlab, or a pair of full-size Magnepans or
even Quads for that money.

I honestly would prefer the frozen wasteland of Siberia to getting wasted by
some thug on the streets of Napoli.

It perhaps was a case of being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Apart
from the crime, the city's littered with squalor, scam artists, prostitutes
and thugs.
I adore Italy, but I would not mind if I never set foot in Naples again.

Though it does in another vile place called Gary, Indiana, which is close
enough to Michigan... :-)
