View Full Version : Are "F-MOD" highpass filters good?

I'm thinking of getting an F-MOD highpass filter from Parts Express to
out in front of an Onkyo receiver and Vandersteen 1C's for use with a
sub. Does anyone have experience with these filters?

If you're talking about the passive F-mod filters their problem is that
their actual filter characteristics are very dependent on the input and
output impedances of related equipment.

On the recommendatio of Gallo Acoustics I tried some with my HALO P3
and A23 so I could sent sub-bass to Gallo Reference 3s. Sound was OK
and the Audio Control spectrum analyzer showed the desired response.
Therefore I am guessing that the impedances of most solid state
equipment are similar.
