Did anyone see/hear the mic Stephen Paul designed for Studio Projects at
AES? If so, what were your thoughts? It won a PAR Excellence award and
should be in production first half of 2005.

I SAW it but didn't hear it. There was no demo. I think it was just a
mock up. I talked to Tony though and he confirmed the first part of
next year launch time. He also said the price was still undetermined.
He added it is being 100% made in the US. Apparently, none of the
Chinese vendors could meet the tolerances they demanded.

According to Alan Hyatt, it was operational, not a mockup, but they felt that
the show floor was not the best place to audition the mic, plus worries about
people spitting into the mic. They disconnected it but a few people did get a
chance to listen to it and were apparently impressed.

I saw it. I heard it. It sounded like a microphone. The show floor was
indeed not a good place to hear it (or any other microphone, for that
matter).
