Need a mic for voice-over only, will ultimately be used for telephony (8kHz
Bandwidth), budget of up to £200 (UKP).

Also, what kind of pop shield is best? Separate mesh, or furry on-the-mic
type?

RE-20 or SM-7 would be my first suggestions without hearing the talent.

Depends on how they pop and what kind of mike you have. Most folks will
not need a pop filter. Ones that have real popping problems will find
the mesh filters more effective. Ones that have more breath noise will
find the ball gag or furry thing types more effective.
