Thanks for Hafler amp recommendation

Ahem... now I need a home-hifi style preamp for 2-channel stereo (or keep the

What do you plan to run through it? How many inputs? Any of them from
turntables? Any of them balanced? How much do you need in the way of
controls? Tone controls? Stereo/mono switch?

reverse, mono settings. High filter, "loudness" on the CC3 also used sometimes.
Mostly for living room listening, also woodshedding parts when others aren't

If the CM is working well and sounds good to you, you probably don't need to
replace it. If you do, assuming your budget isn't astronomical, preamps from
NAD or Adcom would probably suit your needs fine.

of old CS 663 DX Pioneer speakers, which combo is at least doing a very nice
job on Motown bass sound (it's 1964 again around here for a day or so.) --TP

If you are just using line stage and don't mind the noise, keep the CC3.
There is something very evil about the phono stage that I am probably still
under NDA about.

If you don't need tone controls and you don't need a phono stage, consider
a passive box.

Otherwise, Adcom and Parasound both make some decent mid-fi preamps.
