Source for Studio plans

[Sharp9]

I'm building a building from scratch and I'm wondering if there are plans in
books or otherwise of proven, professional studio layouts. I've contacted
some pros and I can't afford (around $150/hr) a custom designer/project
manager but I'd be happy to pay that for "tweaking" and consultation if I
could find an existing plan. Perhaps there are blueprints of older rooms
that have closed? I own many of the DIY acoustics books by Alton Everest and
the like but I'd really like to get true professional results without paying
a professional... Yeah, I know. Any advice would be appreciated.

Besides the good links you already got, get the current (September) issue of
EQ magazine. You'll find an article I wrote with studio designer Wes Lachot,
with complete plans for a project studio having angled walls, optimum
dimensions, and so forth.

great web sites and books twhich can help suggest construction techniques and
ways of designing good sounding shells. Start there and build the studio you
want, not someone else's studio which may or may not work for you.

Well, someone asked for a set of plans, and that's a set of plans.
What's wrong with moving walls? Of couse if you have a space that's
smaller than the one that's drawn, there may not be much you can do
about it.

I couldn't figure out where the window to the studio was or could
be. But there was something in the text (about where to put drums, I
think) that made the think that maybe this was a room with the
monitors at one end and the musician(s) at the other.
