ascap vs. bmi for commercials/cable tv?

if one's primary market is to write background music for tv
commercials and cable tv spots, is ascap or bmi better?

talking more about disposable music that fits the immediate needs of a
commercial or cable show rather than a million-selling garth brooks
type of writer.

main concern would be who does the best job of keeping on top of this
fluid and ephemeral market.

I've heard the opposite, that BMI does better with tracking scoring and
ASCAP does better for songwriters. I belong to BMI myself.
