Ditto on guitar cabs, esp. loud clean blackface twin sounds. NOT been good for
vox tho

I can't tell you because I haven't used mine on guitar yet...but you
might want to add some more details, e.g. what style of music, are you
using stomp boxes in front of the amp, guitar you are using, pickups.
Not so much that someone can tell you "put it 3.1" off axis and 7.37
inches in front, on a piece of carpet" but so they know the general
sort of tone you are going for and can advise you on that basis.

I understand, and I didn't mean to seem humorless.
To be sure, the preamp is a close second to placement in achieving the best
sound from the Ball or any other mic.

The sound I'm after is pretty much in the Fender amp sweet spot--pretty
clean (just a little bit of hair around the periphery), brightness to taste,
light on the low end.
No gadgets in front of the amp, although the Cyber's internal compressor is
usually part of the sound. Guitar-wise, the usual selection of Fenders and
Gibsons.
