I've experienced a similar effect in my life since becoming a Goldwing
(the large Honda touring motorcycle) owner. Now my wife and I don't go
out for dinner unless its to a place at least 50 miles away. With Lake
Tahoe about 60 miles from out home, you can guess where our our destination
often is!

I got a ride in some poncey sports car the other day. Don't know what
it was, but you had to lie down to get in, the engine was a few inches
behind my head and there were only two seats and no luggage space.
The owner had to think carefully about where she was confident to park
it.

It completely cured me of any ambition to own such a vehicle :-)

Not to be anal-retentive here, but the Moderne was a Gibson guitar... you
probably rode in a Modena.
