Hi all,
I'm building a little prototype of computer controlled muti zone mp3
system...I'm more of a computer guy then I am an audio guy so I'm looking
for some advice. I'm looking for a cheap amp / speakers that I can use with
this product http://www.hacs.com/ab8ss.html I'm not really sure if any amp
can work with that or not. If anyone could recommend something cheap (just
so I can test the software out) that would be great. Thanks.

Try local yard sales or a thrift store.

Mike, My (poorly worded) question was really looking to answer what kind of
amp (specific connections, etc) do I need to get.
Sorry for the ambiguity.

The inputs need to match your sound card outputs, and the outputs need
to match whatever speakers you get. You'll probably have to buy some
cables with one type of connector on one end and a different type of
connector on the other end. That's to be determined when you get all
the pieces. Is this that box with the "Euro" screw terminals all over
it? They take bare wires.
Still, as I suggested, get a cheap stereo receiver and speakers at a
yard sale or thrift store. Use the Line or CD input. Or get some cheap
amplified computer speakers.
