Hello All,
I am new to this group so please forgive me if this is a redundant issue.
I am looking to update to more current monitors. I have been having many
problems getting accurate mixes in my home studio environment. Certainly
some of this can be attributed to the environment, but I think a fair part
of it is related to improper bass representation in the monitors. Typically
I over compensate the bass in my mixes (and also experience a fair amount of
muddy low end). I am currently using NS-10M and Old JBL 4311 monitors. Mixes
sound fantastic on the JBLs, but do not translate faithfully.
I think I would like to just get one very accurate modern set of monitors to
help with this issue.
I am attracted to current active monitor offerings.
The two that I have thought the most about are the Mackie HR824 and Blue Sky
System One. Both of these systems are priced similarly and seem to have a
strong professional reputation. I am interested in opinions from folks who
may have experience with these units as to which may be the best bet. In
addition to opinions about these monitors, I am certainly open to
suggestions of other monitor systems that work well.
Thanks very much in advance for any thoughts on this subject.
Regards
Dave
