Possible FS gear scam - Chris Avon in Quebec ?

Someone going by the name of Chris Avon in Gatineau
Quebec Canada recently posted some high end gear for
sale online. Last week I sent him a large sum of $ for a
piece of equipment and he has conveniently stopped
responding to my requests for shipping updates. We had
several phone conversations prior to me sending payment
and he came across as legit, but I'm getting very
concerned.

Does anyone know this guy? Has anyone else sent him
payment for gear and not received it? Does anyone on
this NG know of him and his reputation?

Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Got the same list with no additional names from the Ottawa - Gatineau
white pages

Couple extra in Val des Mont (very close by)

If he lives in Ottawa and area (the other side of the river) there are
about 10 more entries.
