I saw some discontinued gizmo from behringer on ebay and the seller
says it can use an analog mixer to automate a software mixer on a
windows computer. It says that only connection it needs is to the
mixer's insert points. Here's the link:

Now I may just be very ignorant--the guy says it's the only unit that
sells under $3000 and I never look that high for anything--but how
does this work? Does it work for any analog mixer with inserts or just
one with an automation system installed? It seems like it has to have
been outdated a while ago by new technology, but i like to add as much
analog feel to my studio as possible. Do they still make them? For
mac? Sorry if, as I said, I'm really ignorant, but I am a student in
