Does anyone perhaps know a "reliable" company in the San Francisco mid
Peninsula area that performs speaker cone and foam surround replacements?
Thanks in advance.

Check with your area sound reinforcement companies (live concert sound
providers).

the years and does nice work.

I used him once five or six years ago and he did repair the speaker
correctly but it took him much longer than his estimated time and he
was always very sullen and unresponsive when I'd call to check in for
the status (which I only started to do when the estimated time
elapsed).
To top it off, after taking way too long, he didn't call me when he'd
actually finished! It was only when I made another status check that
he said "oh, yeah that's ready to go." What am I, clairvoyant?
Oh yeah, I also made an appointment to pick it up, and when I got
there it was locked. He didn't show up until about a half hour later!
Luckily I was able to kill some time in the audiophile stereo store on
the first floor, but by that point I was put off by the notion of
using him again.
So I started going to A Brown Soun even though it was in San Rafael,
which was quite a bit farther out of the way at the time.

I'd be curious to know if you had a different opinion, but I moved so
I have a new local place that I go to anyway.

Well, since Sound on Stage (in Milbrae) stopped doing recones, their
speaker repair person went to A.Brown Soun in San Rafael---I know, not
the pennisula but they do excellent work.

Keith at the Amp Lab in Redwood City is good but he's not very quick
unless you bug him.

Also, CAE in San Mateo does recones but I've heard of some problems
with them (although I've never had any)
