I have a quick question please.
I have a GT44 with just the cardioid capsule. I like it for drums and
miking amps, but agree with Paul Stamler's review in Recording, on
acoustic guitar I find it has real scooped mids at least on my J45. It
is real bass heavy and bright with no mids, regardless of placement. A
sound I don't really like.
If any of you guys have the omni capsule does make any difference in
miking acoustics or tone down some of the bass heavy proximty effect?
I am finding out more and more not every mic is a do all mic, but I
record acoustic guitars more than drums. I guess before I order the
omni capsule I would like to hear from someone who has the complete
set and some comments.
One more quick question on the mic. My GT power supply has some kind
of rattle in it like a loose screw. I opened the supply thinking it
was a loose part or screw but it is not. The rattle is present even
with the case open. It has no effect on the operation of the supply.
Just wonder if this is normal. I only have one other tube mic, a
Lawson, and that supply does not rattle at all.
Thanks again.
