With all the loudaholism that has infected popular music today, is
there anyplace to find _any_ music recording that is NOT
hypercompressed/limited-to-hell (and irritating sounding?) On the two
concert DVDs I have, I rarely see my meter pin in the red. (Is that
because of the Dolby Digital standards?)
I've taken to checking samples of everything I'm interested in buying
on the iTMS. If it keeps my meter in the red, I don't buy it.
Do you think that this loudaholism will ever stop? (I'm seriously
reconsidering going into audio as a career because of it, and I've
loved audio since I was 6.)
