The manual is here:

http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/SAHT920.PDF

It states the optical digital audio input is for a sat receiver, but
nothing else. My best guess is it will only support DD, which is
weird, as the DVD player portion of the unit supports DTS.

The manual says nothing else about the input other than the spec,
which doesn't mention DTS, but says the sampling frequency is 32 kHz,
44.1 kHz, 48 kHz.

I suggest you contact Panasonic and ask them about what digital
formats the input supports.

I do appreciate your input very much! I have contacted Panasonic tech
support and they are supposed to get back with me in 72 hours ;O(
He was stunned like I have been. I did notice the manual saying that about
the sat box. It seems they could have made it a bit clearer when they wrote
it and it is bizarre that the Receiver/dvd plays DTS but the digital input
will not decode them. Thanks as I wait for Panasonic tech...
