Help - faulty Ford 5000 unit

Hi,

I have a Ford Focus fitted with the Ford 5000 rad/cas with a 6 cd
changer.

The casette player has stopped working. The tape reels rotate but no
sound appears.

Any clues?

I hope not. You'd have pretty ****ed up eyes if the sound did appear ;o)

Does the radio work? Does it make any sound, sorry, does any sound appear
when you try to play a tape? Does the CD changer play anything?

Need more information pal.

Ok substitute "is apparent" for "appears".

Everything but the cassette player works ie. radio & CD autochanger.

Turning the volume way up while playing a casette and there is no
sound except a low level hum. The hum just sounds like electronic
noise.
