Amp to power JLW6

I have one JLW6 in my car, running on Sony XES-M3 Amp (very old but
extremely powerful amp).. the amp was broken recently, I guess no one knows
how to fix it.

So, I am thinking of buying a brand new amp. Is Rockford Fosgate 1001BD
Mono Car Amp. is good for 1 x JLW6? any of you have this combination?

You don't really need an amp that big. I wouldn't put more than 500 watts
on it, it'll be a waste. I used to run my 3 10W6's off of a Linear Power
992IQ which did a whopping 125 watts at 4 ohms mono and it was unbelievably
loud and was clean as hell.

Which size do you have and is it an original or a version 2? I have a
10w6v2 and I am running a JL 500/1 to it

I have the original version 12W6... I am very happy with it. does V2
sound better? should I upgrade?

I always scratch my head when I see a question like this ... if you are very
happy why would you change the system?
