View Full Version : Total Recoder 4.5 and static from audio stream?

Hi, I tried setting up Total Recorder to record an audio stream (asx I
think) and I have run into a bit of a problem.

The first minute of audio sounds fine, crystal clear, but after the
first minute this crazy loud static kicks in and continues for the
duration of the broadcast/stream. I have tried it like 10 times (as
an MP3 output) I don't know if this is the audio stream or total
recorder but I can't figure it out.

Any help on this would be *greatly* appreciated!

Sometimes if a lower-speed computer is used to record direct to MP3, the
processor etc can't keep up. This is especially a problem if your system is
clogged up, overhead issues etc.

Are you recording to WAV files or MP3?

I ran into a similar problem when making copies of my CDs on the ex-wife's PC
using Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4. Except the "static" is present on the entire
disc. Wouldn't be so bad, except I had copied all 275 discs from my 300 disc
changer before listening to any of them.
Now I have a VERY LARGE pile of coasters (DOH!), and a lot of work to re-do.
Still don't know the exact cause (nor do I care, at this point), but I have no
problem on my PC using Nero.

I have a p3 so that could be it, plus there are usually things going
on in the background. I tried recording to MP3 and WAVs, got the same
thing for both.

Thanks,

jeff,

I am familiar with the problem you're having. You said it starts at
exactly 64 seconds, right? Sounds like high-pitch distortion? Are you
using 4.5 pro by any chance?

If so, the distortion you're hearing is caused by using a
bootleg/hacked/cracked or otherwise version of Total Recorder, which
is incorrectly patched (to my knowledge there is no correct patch). So
far I've been unable to find a keygen or crack that works, and the
best thing to do is download the 4.5 Standard Edition that is widely
available on the internet for free. Next, do a search for a keygen for
that version. If you're having difficulty finding one hit me up and
I'll send it to you.

In the meantime, if you find a working version of Total Recorder 4.5
Pro please let me know.

thanks and much luck!
raze

PS if you need further confirmation of this just go to
www.highcriteria.com's website and look under the FAQ page, where it
clearly describes why you get that feedback

Hi raze,

Thanks for the reply, although I think it was meant for Gaiko. He was
the one with the Total Recorder problem. My problem was similar with
Easy CD Creator. And I don't think my problem is with the software I
used. It worked fine a couple of years ago. I think the problem NOW
is caused by the HDD being too full of crap. The HDD on the ex-wife's
PC is only 20GB. And when you start approaching having 16GB of the
18.6GB usable space full, things seem to start to slow down and get
twitchy. Couldn't seem to talk the ex-wife's boyfriend (a great guy
otherwise)into deleting anything to free up more space. I finally got
so frustrated a couple of weeks ago that I bought another 20GB drive
(used) from a buddy of mine for 10 bucks, and installed it in the exes
PC. I'm guessing that probably solved the problem, but haven't tried
burning any discs yet. I'm just using my machine to burn new copies
instead.

Thanks again for the reply. It may be the cause of Gaiko's issue...

It's a pity I didn't see this post earlier or I would have solved for
you =>... Read On....

Simply register it... It is because you have the trial version that
this happens. You get approx 1 minute (give or take a few seconds
either way) of recording useage each time you try it,, then in comes
the "Spoiler" to let you know that you can have a full version IF you
register...

Somtimes its s static signal you get and other times you get a high
pitched tone. Makes no difference,, it is still after a minute or
so...

Either register it or find a crack for it... Your call....
