View Full Version : DVD player with 2 sets of audio (stereo) outputs?

Is there a DVD player out there with two sets of standard (stereo) audio
outputs. I want to be able to run it to two different devices without
having to either unplug and reconnect all the time, or by using some
type of signal splitter.
I want decent quality and am willing to look at a something moderately
expensive (say up to $500), but something cheaper would certainly be
desirable.
Email suggestions would be helpful, since I don't monitor this newsgroup
very often. Thanks in advance for any & all help received!
Thanks,
-Brian

Right. Also, many mch dvd players have a pair of stereo RCA jacks
that parallel the L/R RCA jacks of the 5.l output array. Use both.

I'd suggest geting a $200 DVD player and just getting a pair of radio
Shack Y adapters. The impedance of most RCA line outputs is plenty
low to feed a pair of high-impedance inputs which nearly all things
will have. Total incremental cost for a feature you're not likely to
find anyway--about $12:

FYI, that request is considered rather poor netiquette, and rather
entitlement minded ("The world owes me an answer, but I'm not gonna
contribute to the community"). But, it's Friday, so enjoy the
response for whatever it might be worth.
Best Regards,

I would first try a standard Y-splitter from Radio Shack, Best Buy,
Circuit City, or one of the many other sources from which they are
available. Try one on one channel and see if you can hear a
difference (other than a slight change in volume) when you have the
second destination connected. If you can't hear a difference, get one
for the other channel.

Thanks for the suggestion, Todd.
I will probably end up doing that if I can't come up with a model that
has the feature.
Apologies to all for any breach of netiquette. It's been a while since
I've been able to follow any newsgroups on a regular basis. No slight or
insult was intended.

If you really need replies via email, just set followup to "poster."
