I'm looking to purchase a CD deck for my car but I'm concerned about my CDs
destroying it. Most of the CDs in my car are CDRs with labels(the cheap TDK
CD sticker/labels)...I know past head units would heat up to a decent
temperature and I'm worried that may affect the label's stickiness. Anyone
have any experience/advice with such things?

Sure would suck if it got hot enough to cause the sticker to melt off enough
and jam up inside the deck!

I play labelled CDR's in my Clarion with no problems. It heats up pretty
well, but I haven't had any peeling issues.

My Nakamichi used to heat up very badly, but I never had any problems with
the it regarding the labels. However, I did have some problems with the
player loading and ejecting the CDs. You would think that a very thin
sticker wouldn't have any sort of impact in this regard, but it did. Weird.
Mostly the player seemed strained when loading and ejecting and would slow
down and stop every once in a while when spitting a CD out...not good at all
for the internal mechanism I imagine.

I never had any problems...BUT i often wondered if the cd label can
ruin the deck in other ways then just jamming it. I figure, if the
label is all on one side of the cd...or the label isnt perfectly
centered on the cd that it may cause problems with vibrations. Kind
of like a wheel that isnt balanced. I am sure this shakes a bit
inside as it is being played. WHO KNOWS... thats just something i
thought of one day. I use a felt on my cd's :D
