View Full Version : CD receiver that does not overheat?

Hello,

I need to purchase a CD receiver that does not overheat. I tried using
a Blaupunkt Heidelberg CD-51, but the case got too hot to touch, with
danger of fire. So I sent it back.

The CD receiver is for a 1994 Ford Club Wagon. This vehicle has its
own built-in stereo amplifier, which takes its input from the CD
receiver's speaker output. So the CD receiver does not have to put out
any power, just a signal.

Are there any good CD receivers out there which are made to be
energy-efficient?
My van is my mobile office/home, and I generally listen to classical
music at low volume with the engine off, so it is absurd to waste
battery power on heat that does nothing.

I appreciate your comments on this.

Sincerely,

Robert
