Is the existing head unit stock or aftermarket? And what exactly are you
trying to accomplish by adding two more speakers?

It is an aftermarket Aiwa CD player. By adding 2 more enclosed
speakers, I am just trying to increase the robust sound within the
vehicle. TIA!

As a side note, adding 2 6x9s behind the rear seat of a Cherokee is not
going to increase the robust sound within the vehicle. From the flavour of
your post I would recommend a Bazooka tube (cheap and easy to install).
If you need clarification on anything, just ask.

If you're set on adding two more speakers, you'll need to install a small
2-channel amplifier to run them. Use the Aiwa's RCA outputs to provide
signal for the amp. However, I agree with Dan; 6x9's in enclosures are
usually lacking in bass, and placement behind the seat isn't going to
accomplish anything for your sound quality. I think you'll be much happier
with a amp and sub or an amplified subwoofer like the Bazooka.
