Hey everyone.

My @#% Aiwa "45x4" *snicker* head unit bit the dust. Conveniently, I'd
just ordered my 1500w inverter & have started configuring a computer to
install into the car. But I still need an amplifier between the
computer and my speakers.

I want the most bang for the buck i can get. Four channels. Spend no
more than $150, MAYBE $200 if its for a REAL good cause; I should note
than I'm an ebay junkie so adjust prices accordingly. I have no
problems with older piece of equipment: my house runs off of Halfer
DH500's and I wouldnt have it any other way.

caraudioforum.com's newbie thread recommends HiFonics (havent seen any
on ebay), Phoenix Gold, a/d/s/ and Precision Power for good amps. They
also note those recommendations are rather old, which is why I'm asking
here.

Anyoen have recommendations for manufacturer's or particular amps?

Thanks
Myren

FENDI is correct about the old Hifinics amps. I have Series VIIIs and
they are great. Competed in IASCA 89-90 timeframe with Series VIIs'.
They are hard to find used on ebay but they pop up every now and then.

For my sub bass Im using a profile california 1200. So far its been
great running @ 2 ohms stereo. I would recommend any of the CA
multichannel amps for anyone on a budget, either new or used.
Ive heard great things about US acoustics.
Add linear power and orion to your used gear search list.

I'm thinking of going with a Crunch Powerzone P175.4. $129. I'm sure
the 175 watts pc is more than just slightly exaggurated, but I dont
really need that much power anyways. Hopefully the quality will be
decent....

Zapco makes some really nice clean amps, but they are fairly expensive
unless you can find something on ebay.
