Sounds like your amp's remote turn-on lead is hooked to the wrong wire at
the head unit. One wire (probably blue) is for a power antenna and has
voltage when the tuner is on. One wire (probably blue/white) is for remote
components and has voltage whenever the head unit is turned on. Remove it
from the first. Attach it to the second.
