Hi
I've been tipped off that someone is selling a Neve 5302 Melbourn on
EBay but is using an original Neve sales photo from the photos page of
my web site.
This is the item

The seller has 0 previous sales history and I have emailed him to ask
why he can't provide a photo of his console. My site's photo is of a
brand new console!

Plus, I note that he's selling a 5312 and using a 5302 photo. It'll be a
different paint job, and different connectors and other details.
It may be an OK deal and folk are bidding for it... but the photo is
incorrect and the guy has no selling history.
I think caution is justified.

Well maybe after buying that vintage Neve he didn't have enough money
left over to buy a digital camera?
I wouldn't buy a $500 item with a stock picture (unless it was new in
the box stock from a dealer), much less a Neve.
I don't know why these people (well assuming this is a scam) bother
with trying to sell this high end stuff...actually they ought to get
into Nascar memorobilia....much bigger audience to pitch too, and some
of that stuff goes for insane amounts of money.

Possibly genuine, but if a 'generic' photo he should state that, and clarify
it is a 'slightly' different model.

Hi
Hmmmm... indeed.
I smelt an aroma of fishy business when told that he was using a photo
of a new console from my site rather than one he had taken recently...
especially as he was selling a 5312 and my photo was an earlier 5302.
He pulled the sale shortly after I emailed him about the photo so the
smell of fishy business is stronger still...
