Jerry at Posthorn Recording informs me that Schoeps is due to increase
its prices by 15% as of April 1st. The weak Dollar/Euro exchange rate
is said to be the culprit.
Were we not gifted with a price increase in 2003?

That's not a price increase, it's an adjustment for a changing
exchange rate. Blame the Germans for raising the price of dollars, not
the company or the distributor for raising the price of the
microphones.

Or blame your own government for the cheap dollar. OTOH, it helps American
exports and the tourist industry..

The Euro has been going up against the dollar for some time. I bought
a couple of Waldorf synths about 6 months apart (one in late 2002, the
other in mid 2003), boy am I glad I bought them when I did, prices
have gone up a good bit since then.
I'm sure that European countries/companies are less than thrilled but
our government doesn't seem to be worried.
Just as well, none of us will be able to afford Schoeps when we have
to take that job at the Walmart....

If your nation behaved wisely then your money would keep their worth.
Don't blame Schoeps for what your government seems to do wrong.
Kind regards

There ain't one American in fifty with their head around any of this
stuff; they're too busy watching "reality" shows.

Yeah we're all too busy buying up all the Behringer stuff....I mean
that's one Euro brand that seems to be impervious to the Euro/dollar
inbalance. How can they cut their prices when the other Euro brands
are going up? <g>
