First question....does anybody know of some decent hopefully free VST
plugins to use? I'm mainly looking for some compression and reverb, but if
you have some good suggestions I will take them.
The next thing is...Our drummer just bought a new roland electric drum set.
I was wondering if anybody has opinions on the benefits/negatives of using
it for recording our drum tracks instead of his Tama rockstar. Any help is
appreciated!! Thanks!!

These is just about the best free plugin set around, IMO... I don't like
their reverb much, but the compressor is very useable:

(BTW, for those of you who already have these, they updated a number of them
3 or 4 months ago, so if you like 'em, go get the new versions).
For reverbs, "Freeverb" is a pretty popular one (Google it & you'll find out
where to get it - I can't recall offhand), but I prefer the "Room Machine
844" from Silverspike:

("Ruby Tube" on that same page is also not too bad if you like that sort of
thing)

Hiya,
I totally ADORE the BLOCKFISH compressor in COMPLEX mode.
Its free, for Windows or Mac, and it can be found, along with some other
cool stuff at :
www.digitalfishphones.com
I love using this plugin!!
Good luck

What about free plugs for ProTools 6? Why is it that it's okay to ask
for free plugz for VST and not for ProTools? I mean, whenever people
meekly query RAPpers as to where they might find free plugz for PT,
everybody gets their knickers in a twist?
And, yes, I already have the free BF plugz (the stuff of which yawns
are made, mostly) currently being offered by Digi.
