Hi,

Alesis says ADAT cables should be no longer than 5 meters (16.5 feet) but I
am hearing cable length up to 10 meters is OK.

Any comments from people using ADAT to carry digital audio with longer cable
lengths?

Sometimes it will work. Sometimes it will not. If you keep the cable
straight with no bends, use the best quality cable possible, and try to
put it in a conduit or guard so that nobody touches it, you can run a good
bit more than the spec allows sometimes. But then, other times you will
have trouble running 5 meters. Either it works or it does not, and when
it does not, it is very clear that it does not.

Not with an Alesis product but I have 10 metre optical cables between
the desk and my computer. Works fine. Just don't bend them too sharply.

Our product can be used to extend multiple ADAT connections,
as well, although you would need some more reason than just
extending one ADAT cable or two to justify the cost, obviously.
