View Full Version : Cool Edit Pro Multisession Problem

Is there any for me to convert all the sessions I've just
recorded into one SINGLE mp3 file. This would surely be the
equivalent of a mix down. I've recorded each track through a
cassette four-trak, we've mixed each separate track (vocals,
guitar, bass, drums) and it's sounding very good. I don't know
what I'd do as regards the next stage? Would I re-record it
through the four trak, then back into Cool Edit as one big MP3?

Just open each session and do a mixdown, it doesn't take that long. You can
then open all of the mixdowns and copy / paste to the end of the final mix
track.

You can also binary append mp3s together. I had to do this once
to create a file longer than 12hrs. No editor at the time could open
a wav file of that length.

It was a single for a band, recorded in one continuous 12hr long session.
Two dat machines running recording it, so one could be stopped and have a
new tape put in from time to time. Editied together afterwards into
longer sections (around 2 hours I think, or whereever Wavelab would
start to go funny) and then mp3'd and appended.
There are probably a couple of bad edits in there somewhere, but I was
surprised that there were no noticable glitches where the mp3s had been
stuck together.
