Well, my daughter was mistaken. She thought the waterbag broke, but she
only lost the plug. And still no grandchild, even though she was dilating
and having contractions. Still, the 2 weeks with our daughter and
son-in-law were very pleasant. Guess we will have to go again on the
weekend, along with 16 hours of driving, round trip!
As a result of rushing due to this mistake I was not able to properly
respond to the promotions of selfishness and rebellion from this and the
other pro-sound ng regarding the use of rechargeable batteries. I was
disturbed by my quick and inadequate responses as soon as I left the
driveway. I also do not see the old threads as all my ng's are fresh since
failing to update for 2 weeks.
In response to some people trying to force rechargeable batteries done my
throat I explained how I was not in a position of authority to purchase the
proper charger and rechargeable batteries. As a result it may have seemed
that my senior pastor is not a good pastor and boss. If you have the
perfect pastor who knows all, please let me know where to meet him! Every
leader has their blind spots and weaknesses. To stem the tide of ignorance
I presented my problems with acquiring the proper equipment.
To the ignorant this may have seemed that my pastor is not good at all.
Even those with wonderful leaders/employers I can guarantee you can also
find fault with them. These faults do not make your employer any less
wonderful. You learn to present problems and solutions in your employer's
weak areas in a way that they will receive. That is my problem, not yours.
I am not a selfish, spoiled brat where I will do the cowardly, rebellious,
and destructive act of quitting. I am not like the selfish people who
destroy a church because they don't like the color of the new carpeting or
don't like the idea of drums in a church or any other number of childish
complaints. Your employer is responsible for what happens in your
organization, both good and bad, and unless he or she does something immoral
and/or illegal, you do not have the right to put them down or undermine
their authority in any way.
Leaders/supervisors/employers, what would you do if an employee didn't like
the fact that you got copy paper instead of ink jet paper for their ink jet
printer? How would you feel if an employee left you because you bought
Energizer instead of Duracell? What would you do if am employee threw a fit
over your choice of accountants?
I respect my pastor and his leadership. I do need to find legitimate ways
to teach him in some of his ignorant (lack of knowledge) habits, like he
learned about wireless mics. To abandon him for something like this issue
is stupid and selfish and rebellious. He can be taught. He is learning.
But he does have some ways to go. That is not a legitimate reason to be
stupid. To purchase the equipment myself would undermine his authority.
That, too, is stupid and rebellious.
The only option that will not be rebellious and childish is to purchase the
gear for myself and let the church try it, wetting the pastor's appetite for
good equipment.
