Its very strange how mics react to sources. Normally the U195 is my goto mic
when I hear a singer with stridency or honk but sometimes I guess the
frequencies dont line up quite right and the U195 doesnt give me what I want. I
once did an informal mic shootout on a female singer with a real resonance
problem in the mids and in that case the AT4033 seemed to be the best of the
bunch as well. I dont use that mic all that much so its nice when I find a
place for it to fit.

I agree that the U195 is not the best solution. I love my 195, but not
on my (you guessed it, nasally) voice. You may want to try an AT 4050.
or even a Senn 441 or 421.

A U-47fet is a great mic for nasally voices too... albeit not a very easy mic
to be able to get ahold of sometimes; unless you already hapen to have one in
your mic closet.
