Hello,
My monitor seems to have lost most of its' low end. I have taken it apart
and found the smaller of the two white rectangular bar looking thingies on
the x-over board to be unsoldered. I re-attached that, but it's still quite
short of the low end this thing should be pumping. If I turn the attenuator
up past the point the horn starts to kick in, it just overwhelms the woofer.
Normal is marked on the plate at about 6; I can't take it past about 1. Even
then the woofer output is a bit scratchy. I also found one of the input
jacks to be broken, but still functioning. Have I lost my x-over? Is the
woofer shot? It looks to be in great shape for a piece this old. Help me!!!
Yamahas' site doesn't even list this piece. Thanks.
