My first thought was "holy crap, no way!" but then I thought about how I
tell people there are studio microphones that cost $4500 to $7,000 I
wouldn't mind having and they laugh in disbelief and disgust.

Personally I think that company should comp one of those cartridges to
somebody who has the ability and experience to give it a good review. Maybe
Scott Dorsey perhaps??? ;-)

Yes, which puts it in the same range as the Koetsu and only a little bit
higher than the better grade Decca/Londons. Remember these are very tiny
mechanisms that are all handmade, and made for a very small market so the
engineering costs aren't amortized across thousands on units.

To be honest, I don't think it really sounds much better than the older
Helikon, but it's also not much more money than the Helikon was.

Is for us folk who can't afford $7,500 for a Koetsu Onyx Platinum
moving coil cartridge for our scratch decks.

Look at http://www.needledoctor.com/ and click on cartridges, then
"Hi-Fi Cartridges", they go from $9,000 to $19 and some of the
expensive ones have shells made of wood... the Grado's look like
mahogany, and the "Benz Micro LP Ebony", "a limited production piece
due to the scarcity of the aged Ebony wood used in crafting the outer
shell." I wonder if ironwood would make a good shell, perhaps it
"absorbs vibration" more than other woods...

Whatever you do, don't waste your money on a $19 phono cartridge.

I haven't checked with The Needledoctor in a while, and they are right
here in my town.

Of course if you are going to get that 9,000 dollar cartridge, you
better get this pre amp to go with it. 15 grand!

One of the cartridges on the the site you linked was $12,500 - that's a lot

i have a shure v15vmr, a Lyra Helikon, a grado sonata .5 out put and a stanton
for 78's. I've had other grado's, other lyra stuff , At and other brands. It's
kind of like microphones or anything else. A v15 is a great all around
indispensible thing like an sm7, a Koetsu is more like a u47 which for some
people is the best microphone ever and to others its useless. The lyra stuff in
particular leans more toward neutrality but it's still fun to listen to, but
it's kinda pointless throwing one's hands in the aitr about it.

In terms of cost, a lot of us can't afford a 7500 cartridge but It takes a lot
of work to sell a high end item in low volume. People think I'm an idiot for
spending a lot of money on my stereo, but it make me happy. I'd never spend 60
thousand dollars on a car though, a LOTS of people to that.
