What happens if, after listening to a mix I just did, I be like "Sweet mother
of the lord jesus christ" or "hot damn"?

I believe that means that you're done with the mix...

does it still sound good today?
if so, for God's sake, don't mess with it... After 2 weeks of "up til 4AM
new HR824 monitor education" and remixing every song on our first EP, I am
there too: ) Still sounds crazy good after 2 days of finishing everything.
Test everywhere to make sure, have another engineer listen to it and take
notes(from cd so they can't wreck it if they just *have* to mess with it
: ), archive and forget about it until mastering/A&R time.

Well which is it? Even a 45 chromosome burger-flipping moron knows you can't
be simultaneously like "Sweet Mother of the Lord Jesus" and "Hot Damn". The
two feelings be mutually exclusive. Relfect on it for a while, and decide
which one it is. If it be like "Sweet Mother..." you're set. Go make a pot of
beans and eat yourself sick. If it be more like "Hot Damn", it means there's
too much reverb on the floor tom, the accordion has too much button noise, and
the hoots and hollers are masking the mezzo sopranos. I'm afraid you'll have
to remix it. Thems the breaks.

Then you make a CD of it, play it in your car, and say "Geez, this
really sucks."

It means that somebody will erase the disk or tape before it gets
backed up.
