One consideration - the rear panel XLR inputs use insulation-piercing
connectors for the internal wiring to the circuit board. I.e., the
connecting wires are simply jammed into a sharp slot on the back of
the XLR socket assembly; this must be an inexpensive way to go. These
connections can get loose/intermittent in time, dropping a mic channel
out when it happens. If a channel drops out for this reason, the 1/4"
in front is usually OK and provides a clue that the fault is a
connection and not some more fatal problem.
While you've got it out of the rack, it might be worth it to check
these, though there are an annoying number of screws involved in
getting the top cover off.
(Stephen Sank went through mine a few months ago, and jettisoned a
ridiculous number of cheap connector devices that are in there, in
favor of good solder joints.)
The unit is a bit heavy to take out of the rack, though. Good luck.

It ain't real flimsy, but it also ain't real compact or lightweight for
two channels...
I know several guys who use 'em for their bass preamp and beat the ****
out of 'em and they just keep on bassing.
