my studio just released the third CD for a flute, pedal harp, violin
trio playing a mix of classical and traditional material. i am not
satisfied with the results, but do not know exactly where to apply
money/effort/time/study, etc to correct whatever the problems are, and
i need some professional help. if you specialize in classical or
chamber music type recording or mastering, i would be willing to pay
for up to an hour of your regular studio rate to get a professional
critique of the CD. i'm hoping for maybe scott dorsey, scott fraser,
david satz, ben maas, but i know there are many others on this forum
who also have many years experience in this area.
i'm looking for comments on literally every facet of the recordings -
from basic stuff like "i cantell your room sucks, becasue i can hear
flutter echoes, or boomy blah blah" or "you have way too much reverb
on the XX, and not near enough on YY" or "the flute is just too loud
in themix" - to more complex comments like "bad choice of mic or
preamp on the XX - it is too dark to stand out in the mix" or "my
scope shows lots of phasing issues - you should have done ..." or
"you should try a new mastering engineer, since..."
if you are interested in providing this service for me, please email
me at and let me know your price and schedule,
and i'll send you some details and a copy of the CD. thanks.
