View Full Version : Delta1010 Users: Do you know about this problem?

I have a Delta1010 that I bought late 1999 or early 2000. Lately, when I
power it on, all analog inputs have a full scale input level (if I unmute
them and bring up their faders it is quite horrifying the wall of sound that
comes out!). This is even with nothing connected to the unit. For an hour or
so (used to be 20 minutes) the levels will dance around and finally go to
zero (seemingly - if I record from an input, there is low level noise). Tech
support kept telling me it was probably a bad ground with the motherboard,
but it happens with several mb/psu/video card combos. So finally they agree
that it is time to put that lifetime warranty in effect (how sweet is that -
do other audio card makers have that kind of warranty?). I spoke with one of
the tech people and they said the early delta1010s sometimes have a
capacitor go bad and that it causes my problem. They said later delta1010s
have a capacitor upgrade. So if you have an early delta1010 you may want to
take preemptive action...

Don't worry. They told me all newer units have the capacitor upgrade that
prevents this problem from happening.

Common knowledge.
You have been advised of this possibility by other posters in your earlier
threads.

I am not going to take the time to confirm if this was pointed out to me. It
is irrelevant. What is important, is it was not common knowledge to some of
the other posters, as evidenced clearly by their replies. This post is not
about my problem anymore. It is meant to make others aware. Try
comprehending that.
