I am a home recorder who mostly uses Cooledit pro 1.5. I have an Echo
Mia soundcard in my main music PC. Well, I just got a 2nd PC and I want
to record out from it (VSTI's) - through my mixer - into my other PC. I
already have it all set up, and it sounds ok, but I want a cleaner
output from my new computer. I need to know what the best cheap
soundcard I can use for this purpose is. I don't want to spend another
200 bux for a Mia level card, but I need a little better than stock for
this new PC. I am using an Oxygen 8 USB-to-midi keyboard, so my new
soundcard doesn't even really need a midi port. I'd prefer something
with 1/4 " jacks, but I'll settle. I'm looking for the cleanest signal
and lowest latency I can get combined with the least expense.
I'll get another Mia if I really have to, I but it almost seems like
more than I need.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Queso

The Mia is pretty much the next thing up the ladder from stock PC soundcards
internal converters. You might save a couple of bucks on m-audio's similair
product.

The strategy I'd take would probably be to wait and see if I wanted to
upgrade the Mia to something with 4 i/o then put the Mia in the 2nd 'synth'
box.
