View Full Version : Question for Nuendo users this time (bounce?)

Hello,
I recently installed Nuendo and Iīm quite impressed with the editing
functions so far. I have a few questions about it:

- I donīt really undestand how Bouncing works (Iīm used to Logic).
There is the "Bounce selection" wich is very good, but how do you
bounce a whole sequence, Audio + VST + VST Instruments??

- Is it possible to use an external audio editor, like in Cubase?

- Also, a detail but is there a way to totally get rid of the grid? (I
usually donīt use any metronome/quantize) I see that you can use
seconds or fps instead but I just want no grid at all :)

Thank you for any help.
Stéphane

The per channel eq is quite nice too I think.

I'm not using 2.0 yet, I have it but am using the older version since I
hate OSX. When you have your mix and automation all set up (or just balances
and plug ins if it's not really automated), you select your tracks page, then
go to the "export audio" menu and select "mixdown". You get a pop up of what
to include, effects, automation, whether to import the bounce back into the
session's audio pool or not.

It does help to read the manual.

When I am doing audio I set it to snap to events when moving audio, or
not, for free form midi tracks you probably want to turn snap off all the time.

Thanks Will,

Yes! I checked this. I discover great functions like this all the
time.
It seems like I get more Latency than with Logic but I have to do some
more tests to be sure.
Iīm thinking about getting Nuendo anyways.

I know. Sorry, I tried a couple of sequencers the last few days, so I
havenīt read all the manuals, also manuals in English (with specific
terms) are sometimes a bit difficult for a french guy like me ;)

I tried this but the grid remains visible though. But itīs no big
deal. I can live with this.

Thanx.

PS: I also dislike OSX. Itīs sooo slow and itīs not back compatible.
It sounds more like an old marketing trick to me. Heavier
system/programs = stronger need for new computer - basically. They
create the need of a faster and newer machine.
When I use OSX, my Firewire iBook looks like my old LC475.
